Tom Selleck’s Legendary Career and Personal Life
Tom Selleck, best known for Magnum, P.I. and Blue Bloods, has had a remarkable Hollywood career. However, years of performing his own stunts have taken a toll on his body, leaving him with persistent back pain.
Born in Detroit in 1945, Selleck initially pursued basketball at USC before shifting to acting. He struggled for years, landing small TV roles before his big break with Magnum, P.I., which made him a household name. His success continued with roles in Three Men and a Baby, Friends, and Blue Bloods, now in its 13th season.
Despite his Hollywood fame, Selleck prioritized family. He married Jillie Mack in 1987, and they share a daughter, Hannah. In pursuit of a balanced life, he left Magnum, P.I. to focus on his family, settling on a 65-acre ranch in California.
Hannah inherited his love for horses, becoming a successful equestrian. After overcoming a serious leg injury, she launched a horse breeding business, Descanso Farm.
Now 79, Selleck continues to work while maintaining his ranch life. His career, devotion to family, and resilience make him a true Hollywood icon.
