Patrick Hardison, a Mississippi firefighter, suffered severe third-degree burns in 2001 when a house collapsed on him. His face was disfigured, leading to over 70 surgeries. In 2015, he became the first man to receive a face transplant after a matching donor, David Rodebaugh, tragically passed away. Patrick’s new face, including scalp, ears, and eyelids, allowed him to blink and regain normal function. The procedure, lasting 26 hours, was life-changing.
