The saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is a lesson worth remembering, especially when it comes to parenting.
Richard Huff, 51, is a devoted father raising five kids with his wife, Marita. But because 85% of his body is covered in tattoos—including his face—many judge him unfairly. Despite his loving nature, strangers online ridicule him, assuming he’s a bad father based solely on his appearance.
Richard’s love for tattoos began as an addiction, starting from his legs and working upward. His ink includes the names and lips of his children. While he hopes to be 100% covered in tattoos within four years, he acknowledges the challenges. Kids at his children’s school often find him intimidating at first, but his daughter quickly assures them, “My dad is not scary; he’s just covered in tattoos.”
Marita admitted she initially judged Richard based on his looks but soon realized he had a big heart. She proudly shares on social media that he’s a dedicated husband and father.
Richard, an active PTA member and supportive parent, believes tattoos don’t define his character. “Our kids are happy, and that’s all that matters.” He proves that love and commitment matter more than appearances.
