Eva Leapt Without Second Thought to Save Erin
In Northwestern California, Erin Wilson hiked with her family dog Eva along the Trinity River, never dreaming she would have to face a mountain lion!
The untamed beast sprang in front of her and grazed her shoulder. Her devoted Belgian Malinois girl Eva intervened as she yelled in shock out of instinct!
Eva sprang fearlessly onto the mountain lion, which was twice her own size. Erin fled to obtain a tire iron and assist Eva while the two struggled. With that, she began to batter the predator, but everything appeared hopeless.
Eva’s skull was punctured by the cat’s long, sharp teeth as it seized onto hers. Thankfully, a few onlookers saved the day by using pepper spray to drive off the lion.
Extreme Cuts on Her Head
Eva was bloody everywhere and badly hurt. The drive to the hospital sent her into convulsions from a perforated sinus cavity and fractures to her skull. The battle left this courageous canine gravely damaged and her life in jeopardy.
Redding hospital in Northern California’s Shasta Cascade region admitted her. Eva, being a robust dog, made it through. Still, Erin launched a fundraising to pay for her brave girl’s medical expenses because she needed a protracted recuperation.
Eva spent many days under strong anesthetic because of the swelling around her eyes and the persistently high pressure in her skull.
The Courageous Girl Is Gone, But Her Memory Never Is
Eva was feeling better for a while following the medical care. She went home and got right to work. Even going for frequent walks with Erin, she showed no indication of weakness.
The one thing Erin was scared of, though, materialized! Eva’s condition worsened over night as she suffered abrupt convulsions.
She lapsed into a profound coma and was unresponsive to anything. Eva sadly died a few hours later because her body was too frail to fight this fight.
When Erin learned that her courageous daughter had died, she was distraught.
The world is not equitable. It is unkind. Not meant to happen like this. With our baby gone, we have no one to hold our hand. We give each other no kisses. The fur on my girls isn’t very soft. She had such refinement. So tiny, she captioned a photo on Instagram.
Despite her sudden death, Eva will be remembered for her bravery forever. She was Erin’s angel guardian who saved her life in every way possible. You will be remembered, good girl!
