For our dogs, we are there in good times and bad. Never would we leave them at their lowest moments, and they would never leave us.

That some dog owners believe differently and give up on their sick animal companions saddens me.

Guppy Hanson had a malformed leg and little prospect of survival, so both her birth mother and her owners abandoned her.

Guippy Hanson

April 27, 2022, saw the birth of Shih Tzu and Beagle mix Guppy Hanson in Wetumpka, Alabama. One of four puppies, her mother rejected her because of a limb abnormality.

She was four ounces, the size of a granola bar. Her owners abandoned her at the Bryanson Veterinary Clinic believing she had no chance of survival.

The vets thought Guppy Hanson would make it because of her fighting spirit.After they devised a plan, the employees chose to breastfeed her at home in shifts.

Becky Yourman, one of the staff members, was the first to take the puppy to her home. The little dog enchanted her daughter Jess Lane from the moment she laid eyes on her.

Guppy Hanson is what she called her. Guppy, because she was small like a little fish, and Hanson, because of the character, Hanson, in Scary Movie 2.

The Yourman family bought her the necessary supplements to help her recover faster.

Days passed and the puppy got stronger and stronger.Her X-ray was due when she was three months old. The Yourman family learned then that Guppy was missing a couple more bones in addition to a shoulder joint.

She was unharmed by her malformed leg, and the veterinarian advised against having it amputated.

The puppy kept growing because of the ton of love she had in her new home.

Guppy Hanson’s actual mother never showed her the affection and cuddling she so richly deserved, but Libby, the family’s other dog, did.

“Libby proved to be a fantastic Guppy surrogate mother. She would love on her and clean her, Lane claimed.

The Yourmans observed that their dog never glanced at them when they called her name or responded to loud noises. Their affectionate puppy was deaf, as they discovered when they took her to the vet.

Appreciating Life

Guppy didn’t let her limb abnormality to keep her from living a happy life. She fell in love with digging and it quickly became one of her favorite pastimes.

Although climbing the steps presented some difficulty, she also conquered that. She mastered jumping without catching her arm on the steps.She showed to be a true fighter from the moment of her birth.

She likes to chew on her blankets and favorite toys and to go for stroller rides with her family.

Every every day, her forever family makes sure she understands how much they adore her.

Every day my son gives her a hug and says, “You really are the most gorgeous girl in the world! He is not mistaken, Lane remarked.

Everyone that saw Guppy Hanson was enthralled with her narrative and her silly yet endearing demeanor.

Guppy Hanson keeps her Facebook fans informed about her daily pursuits and interests and is quite active there. Playing with used paper towel and toilet paper rolls is her most recent favorite pastime.

In April, she became one year old, and her family threw a benefit. Guppy Hanson clearly underwent a metamorphosis.Now she is giggling with delight.

That she discovered joy with her forever family makes us very happy.Guppy Hanson and her family count themselves quite fortunate to have one another.
