Courageous Goldendoodle Saves a Baby Fawn from Drowning in the Lake

Certain heroes don’t don capes, that much is certain! Like Harley, others only wear a smile!

This Virginian hero Goldendoodle made news all around the world by acting when most needed!

About 200 feet from shore, Ralph Dorn, the owner, saw this six-year-old dog kayaking with an unidentified animal for the most unselfish purpose ever.

Ralph understood Harley was in the middle of a rescue operation when he got a little closer than he had been swimming leisurely!

Harley sprung into action right away.

Virginia resident Ralph Dorn was aware that his Goldendoodle, Harley, was no typical dog.He has always been a great boi—incredibly smart and intuitive.

Still, Harley surprised his boss once more when he sprang to save a newborn fawn from drowning.

Ralph speculates that Harley may have observed the fawn out in the water and acted immediately.

He acted as soon as he saw the baby fawn struggling desperately to get out of the water!He swam straight for the infant, who was at the time around 200 feet from the shore, without second thought or questioning why.

Canoeing Until They Were Safe with His Friend

A few days old fawns were not easy to help!Harley had to lead her all the way to the coast because the infant lacked coordination and was unsure of how to get there. Still, there was Harley, swimming like an expert and leading his newest pal to the beach!

Ralph writes, “Harley would herd the fawn back towards the coastline and they kept coming closer and closer every time it tried to turn away.

The infant most certainly would not have survived if Harley hadn’t been there!Thankfully, this Golden boi was able to get the fawn to land. As soon as they emerged from the water, he began tending to its needs by licking its body.

All he wanted was to be sure the infant was secure, and he most definitely didn’t want to go!

But a short while after the rescue, the mother of the fawn appeared on the lawn. Ralph and Harley entered their home as soon as they saw her, making sure the baby and the mother were reunited in peace.

A Lovely Friendship was Developed

Ralph assumed that was it, but Harley shocked him even more the next morning! His wife Patricia and him were having coffee when this Golden boi came up to them and began to run from one window to the next.

Ralph could see he wanted to go out, but he was not clear why. When he let Harley out the front door, he saw the cutest thing imaginable!

The tiny fawn Harley recovered from the lake the day before was actually heard bleating close by! The fawn stopped bleating the moment they were together, and he raced enthusiastically towards this infant.

There were a few pawdorable minutes spent by the two, sniffing and wagging their tails together. Harley was delighted to see his tiny companion and returned to the house after their quick meeting!

It is hardly surprising that Harley has such a keen sense of intuition and exceptional ability to assist others! He helped the old and young in his neighborhood as a licensed therapy dog before his valiant rescue!

He has always been a model boi, willing to act and assist others when needed. He is the pawfect Goldendoodle, that much is true!
