Saved from Euthanasia, a Dog Can’t Control His Joy
I recently came across a quote someplace that, to be honest, is rather realistic. It said that saving pets is 50% sadness and 50% relief.
First-time encounters with abandoned or stray animals cause real grief since so many pets are in such pain and you want to save them all.
When you see that a rescued puppy is at last secure and has a good future with a new home, the other half is relieve.
These are the most priceless moments a person could wish for their pet, and in this article we will discuss one such rescue story in which a good guy gave a dog a second chance after saving it from euthanasia.
One Joyful Beagle
Many owners now days turn in their pets and have them put to sleep because the cost of treating their medical issues becomes too great.
Gregory the Beagle saw things exactly the same.Joe Kirk saved him from near execution.
He intervened only two days before he was supposed to be put to sleep.Given that Joe and his wife Schenley are the founders of the non-profit Animal Sanctuary and Hound Rescue, this was the ideal result.
With its headquarters in Findlay, Ohio, its main goals are to find new homes for abandoned animals and provide foster care for older, unadoptable dogs.
Gregory is one grateful and appreciative Beagle, Schenley wrote in a Facebook post!He is TRULY SAFE!
He knows he is in capable hands even though he will be receiving treatment for heartworms! We’ll get him well, give him the love and future he so well deserves!
Gregory’s Restart
The Kirks took him to a vet and treated his heartworm disease when he was at last safe and under their care.
Gregory had little wait time since they placed him on the adoption list shortly after his treatment.
A couple who wanted to adopt him knocked on the door. His permanent house was shown to him a short while after.
Currently living with his new family, he is relishing his time spent with them and his new beagle sibling.
Beautifully said, Schenley commented, “We are often asked how many dogs we have saved.”We have saved one more is the response that always springs to me.They will receive all the love and respect they so richly deserve and one more dog is safe.
One additional dog will get required medical attention and be fed appropriately.A devoted lifetime home will be found for one more dog. Nothing in life is more satisfying or produces a finer feeling.
A little kindness goes a long way with dogs and you can always do more to aid those in need, if that is anything we can learn from this tale.
