Quick Reflexes: Kansas City Chiefs Player Rescues Child Falling From Stands

A little kid falls forward, between guardrails, at a football stadium. Chiefs player Tershawn Wharton starts to reach out, eyes wide
As a defensive end, Tershawn Wharton’s job isn’t to pull off game-winning catches. That said, Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Carolina Panthers saw Wharton make the most important catch of all. That said, this moment actually took place just after the game. The result? Another win for the Chiefs. Needless to say, fans went wild in the stands, and the players took time to say “hello” to a few of them.

While looking around at the crowd, a little boy stood out to Wharton. It was at this moment that the football star decided to make this kid’s day: By giving him his very own gloves. With the kid high up in the stands, Wharton needed to reach up high so he could grab them. Unfortunately, this Chiefs fan’s eagerness caused him to trip, and he took quite a fall in an area without a guardrail. Watch Wharton’s heroic reflexes take over in the video below.

When a Young Kansas City Chiefs Fan Takes a Fall, Defensive End Tershawn Wharton Heroically Swoops in Just in Time

As soon as this sweet kid starts to fall headfirst, Wharton’s eyes go wide from shock. At the same time, however, he moves swiftly toward the fan, arms wide open. From here, we can’t see what happened exactly. All we know is that Wharton successfully catches the young fan before he can hit the ground. As a result, the boy manages to remain uninjured.

“Best catch of the game!” a fellow Chiefs fan shares in response to that harrowing video, with another adding, “I think the Chiefs just made a fan for life! Thank goodness the boy is ok!”

“Core memory for that kid!” a third fan adds. “People in the bar in 10+ yrs will not believe that story! ‘One time when I was a kid attending a chefs game…’”
