It’s a beautiful thing when a happy dog in a shelter finally finds his new family and a forever home, but it’s also a bit sad to see a dog struggling to get adopted.
Many sheltered dogs have this problem, and it’s even worse when their friends at the center leave them because they can get pretty lonely.
Meet Chauncey
Chancey opens the novel. The Spartanburg Humane Society took in this very quiet, but lovable and lively dog.
She would spend a lot of time there, watching her friends go with a new family through a hole in the door.
Why nobody wanted to adopt Chauncey eluded the shelter staff.
The Dodo was told by Spartanburg Humane Society CEO Angel Cox that Chauncey is incredibly shy until she gets to know you. She so kind of watched the world go by at the shelter, what with all the barking and commotion going on.
They all stayed close to her because they were all feeling terrible about her circumstances. They caressed, walked, and fed her goodies.
Cox said: She enjoyed having the volunteers and staff walk her around. Being excellent on a leash, she was undoubtedly a volunteer favorite.
A family came to the shelter and adopted her even though it appeared like she would never find someone. Chauncey got to know the new family for a while and learned what it was like to own a home.
Her new family returned her to the shelter when, regrettably, things did not work out.
A Glorious Future
Chauncey’s life was given a second shot only because of the Spartanburg staff’s unwavering commitment.
The staff members posted about Chauncey on Facebook in an attempt to find her a new partner since they could not stand her predicament.
Not long after, having seen the story about her, another family chose to adopt her.
Her charisma struck the new family right away this time, and they knew she was the one they had been hoping for.
She sold herself straight away, Cox said. She charmed them with her sweetness and is a really loving dog.
