Rescuers of dogs have a far more difficult job.

These big-hearted folks have numerous obstacles to overcome and, most importantly, many more heartbreaks during their lifetimes!

Isn’t it just a nightmare, finding and rescuing dogs from the worst circumstances you could possible imagine?

One such tragic account about a pregnant doggo mother who was viciously ejected from her house was shared on the Animal Rescue YouTube channel on March 20, 2024.

And so it was!

Found in Appalling Conditions, Momma Dog

When rescuers received a call about a dog giving birth in the neighborhood, the backstory was startling!

Moments before giving birth to her litter, this fearless and strong dog mother was kicked out of her house, so she was unprepared for what was to come.

She looked everywhere for a sanctuary after her (former) owner had abused and battered her, but in vain.

Rather, she gave delivered outside in the bitter cold and pouring rain. The pups’ body temperature was maintained by the mother trying to keep them as near to her as possible.

Saddly, the weather was so hostile to her small family that she made every effort.

The scene left rescuers utterly devastated when they got there. Few of her pups, who were barely a day old, showed any life at all… And there was her, the mother who did all in her power to keep her family safe.

She resisted having a leash wrapped around her neck.

Having learned from her past experience that not all hoomans are friends, the mother dog yelled at the rescuers and attempted to drive them away with her snarling.

The only one afraid, though, was her.She stopped the rescuers in their tracks because she was so terrified that her puppies would be taken from her.

Till, at last, she gave in.

Everyone Was Heartbroken by the Heartbreaking Truth

Not many hours later, the most terrible insight struck.

The rescuers verified what they most feared, even if they weren’t completely sure at first. Regretfully, just one puppy out of the entire litter lived. The remainder of them perished because such terrible circumstances were simply too much for the babies.

After Momma and her baby were safely moved to the nearby hospital, rescuers kept an eye on them.

They made the decision to look over both dogs for any health problems before they could be reunited. Both dogs tested good, thankfully.

Then followed still another heartbreaking incident!

The mother hurried to embrace her surviving puppy and place it next to herself as soon as they eventually crossed paths again.

This time, far from the rain, in an isolated shelter, she took it softly in her mouth and put it directly next to her face so she could nurse and kiss her baby.

She appeared still to be rather tense and dubious.

This behavior made perfect sense given all she had gone through in the past. However, the rescuers were motivated to do all within their ability to support the mother in emerging from her shell and seeing the other side of mankind.

She’ll be content for the time being a loving mother to her child and getting some excellent sleep.
