Even the picture breaks my heart lol. I promise she is VERY loved. For background, my dog DOES have really bad anxiety. I’ve had her since 8 weeks, she’s been socialized, I’ve done everything possible for her to not have anxiety but she just does. She is on medication that she only has to take on specific days when we know an event or car ride is coming up.
I am looking if anyone has experience or knowledge with THIS SPECIFIC context……. When it is time to eat, she crawls around her bowl with crying eyes and with her tail tucked. I tell her it’s okay, you’re okay you can eat your food, and try to comfort her. That just makes her crawl to me and fall on her back for pets. She is separated from my other dogs so they aren’t bothering her, she likes this food, she’s always used this bowl, there is nothing stressful in her eating environment.
Usually she will start out like this, and I say “it’s ok eat your food” then I walk away and she will eat on her own. But on some feedings like tonight, she refuses to eat! Just keeps crawling away from the food crying so I walk over to it with her and pet her thinking she’ll eat but she still doesn’t so I just put it away. Then she goes completely back to normal and is ready to play she just didn’t want to eat it seems like. WHAT is this? Do I just need a different sort of anxiety medicine for her? I’m already planning on getting an everyday one anyway because I don’t see a different in the occasional one she was given. Any ideas???
