Piccolo never could have predicted the changes in his life.

Being a stray puppy, he never stopped believing that no one would ever see him, much less give him a helping hand.

He searched the streets for leftovers of food to eat and struggled to survive day after day.

Even if his heart ached for human love, he refused to allow himself to believe that he would be given another shot.

Destiny sent Piccolo terrific people and the sweetest surprises just when he least expected it.

The Chance to Make Over His Life

The stray puppy was picked up and taken to safety by the rescuers from the charitable group Compassion Without Borders.

Given his advanced age, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California, accepted him.

Eventually given the name Piccolo, the dog won over the hearts of the shelter workers, who showered him with love.

I was in Muttville the day Piccolo got to San Francisco. He went by Chester when he was at CWOB. That poor child obviously suffered alone down there. He was nice and appeared to realize that everyone of us was here to help, even though he had very little hair and his skin must have hurt, said Patty Stanton of Muttville Senior Dog Rescue to The Dodo.

Piccolo soaked in every hug his friends at the shelter offered him and gratefully acknowledged their assistance.

Nobody knew how long Piccolo lived alone or how long he battled his skin problem.

The staff didn’t think his fur would grow back when he was already ten years old.

There was medication for Piccolo. Appreciating the love and support of his shelter mates, he set off on his healing path.

With time, his condition improved and he started to like taking walks.

Piccolo Locates His Spot Under The Sun

A beautiful family was looking to acquire a dog at the moment.

They came onto Piccolo’s profile one day while perusing the adoptable dog profiles on the shelter’s website.

The family was warmed by his endearing gaze. They chose to provide him a lifetime home after falling in love with him.

Piccolo knew his new family would love him even if his fur never grew back.

When the doggo and his owners moved in together, he was overjoyed. The toys and cozy blankets they got him were well adored.

His forever family showered him with a ton of love, wishing to make up for all the time he spent living the lonely life of a stray.

Piccolo felt adored, and he couldn’t believe how his life had changed.

He was welcomed exactly as he was.

Piccolo didn’t appear to mind having so little fur. Beautiful sweaters that his family dressed him in were a favorite of the cute California boi.

Traveling is something the elderly dog enjoys.

His family is overjoyed that they were able to provide him the life of unending love he so richly deserves.

Piccolo like to curl up by the warmth on a ton of blankets. He likes that place the best at home.
