At only a few days of age, this tiny furrball found himself all alone when his momma rejected him.
You should make lemonade when life gives you lemons. Or, to use Flipflop’s words, grin your nicest way over obstacles in life!
The rescue in Georgia, Bosley’s Place, shared Flipflop’s story of tenacity and amazing character. Rejected by his mother when he was a baby because of a defect, this little puppy who looked like a Teddy Bear battled his way back to health!
That was followed by the biggest surprise of his life!
Inspired Travels
Flipflop did not begin life with much sweetness. When his mother rejected him, this little furrball, who was just a few days old, was left alone.He was fighting for each breath, on the edge of death, because of his front leg abnormality.
The miraculous then happened!
Big-hearted rescuers at Bosley’s Place in Georgia made the decision to step in and improve this little boi’s life.
Flipflop began to exhibit improvements as soon as he was brought in. In short order, he took to the bottle and began to gain weight every day.
“Apart from the obvious deformity of his front left leg, he appears to be extremely healthy with a great appetite,” the Bosley’s Place team posted on Facebook.
Every day, the kind folks at BP tracked his development. And this rejected boi turned into a healthy and content puppy in a matter of weeks!
At the rescue, he had already begun to socialize with other dogs and make new friends. The very endearing nature of Flipflop quickly made him the center of attention.
Playing about and living as though his past never happened, he spent every minute of his existence with other doggos.
Still, his carers were thinking about one unanswered question. His malformed leg left them unsure of whether to amputate him because of the potential for infection.
Then the solution materialized as Flipflop aged!
This little guy, who also happened to be a full-blooded toy Poodle, was fine without surgery, the vet said.
As he’s not a 60+ pound dog, he’s not dragging it and it’s not at risk of infection, thus he’s getting around just fine and it doesn’t affect him at all. He gets to retain the leg, BP said on Facebook.
Flip Flops In A New House
Not content with that, this genuinely amazing family continued! Other than Flipflop (now Butters), they accommodated Griff and Henry, two more canines with specific needs.
His family is just lovely, really amazing. In an additional post, BP said, “They adopted TWO of our other special-needs puppies, Griff and Henry, now Hank, in addition to Flipflop, now Butters.”
With his favorite siblings and hoomans at his new house, Butters is overjoyed right now. He’s at last where he belongs after a difficult beginning in life, which makes every day an exciting new experience!
