Sometimes human brutality is unbounded. It baffles me how somebody could abandon a dog and let them starve on their own.
Worse still, some people will do it in the most horrible way possible without even giving them a chance to live.
Things were going badly for this puppy. The homeowner chose to sell the house and leave him there after his beloved person went away.
Who knows when he would have been found if someone hadn’t acquired the house and discovered him sleeping in it.
He was very undernourished.
The man who purchased the house called a rescue group right away after entering and seeing this miserable dog lying on the ground pleading for assistance.
The fact that this canine, Benny, was abandoned there by himself astounded the rescuers when they finally arrived.
He would drink floodwaters because he was so thin. To consider how much he endured is really devastating.
Rescuers carefully put Benny in a kennel since he was too frail to even walk. He was heading toward a clinic presently.
Though they tried to cheer him up a little, his rescuers were powerless. All the suffering he was going through made him cry nonstop.
Benny was looked over right away when he got to the clinic, and the veterinarians said he was too frail to eat conventional diet.
They so started him on fluids till he at least somewhat recovered his strength. Days later, nothing was improving.
His frail body was obviously showing the consequences of his far too long alone time.
But his doctors persisted in their care until he was fully well.
Really Sad News for Benny
At least, this recuperation allowed him to sit by himself. Moreover, his vets began giving him raw food.
They got this dog several lovely toys, and he adored them, to show how much they support him.
But Benny had rabies, according to the blood test results that came back just as the veterinarians thought things were improving.
Each day he became weaker, and the vets were appalled by this development. Though in the end it was just not meant to be, they made every effort to help him get healthy.
A couple days later, Benny crossed the rainbow bridge, and everyone was inconsolable.
His rescuers made sure that he lived his final days with those who really cared for him despite this catastrophe. They tried very hard to make him feel at ease and cherished in their company.
This catastrophe should teach us that such things can and should be avoided. The owner just needed to phone for assistance or send Benny to a shelter to save his life.
Dogs in comparable circumstances abound, and we must never forget to contribute in any way we can to improve the lot of all creatures.
