Though Eden has had a far from pleasant life, she is one of the kindest puppies you will ever meet. She struggled greatly.
You would cry at her story if she could talk. We will regretfully never know the whole truth, which might be for the best.
Thank goodness, her pain has ended and she can now lead a contented and loving life. The account of Eden is told here.
Living Under A Tree
Though how Eden came to be living beneath a tree was unknown, one thing was for sure: she had been there for some time.
Sometimes somebody would pause and offer her animals. She would not leave hungry because someone had left her a big bucket of water and some food.
She was hungry most of the time, though, and longed for some real food. Laying down hurt because Eden had become so thin from deprivation of food and drink.
Though many would see her, no one wanted to help.
Eden understood only that living beneath the tree was terrible. She stayed, assuming they would come back, as there is where they had probably abandoned her.
Eden only wanted affection and kisses, but all she got were chilly, frightening evenings with no one to keep her safe.
Founder of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue in Irvine, California, Suzette Hall, didn’t waste any time in getting to this adorable canine in need.
She spent weeks and weeks under the tree, Suzette told The Dodo. She would not move.
As soon as she saw Suzette, Eden began to move her weak body and plant kisses. She was nonetheless very much in love.
Suzette was headed to guard Eden. It was her last act, to commit suicide under the tree.
But this adorable puppy needed emergency medical care since she was so weak and ill.
Life in the Hospital
Suzette drove Eden to the Orange County, California, Camino Pet Hospital. She was given a bath, but they soon discovered she was severely underweight—flesh and bones, and had a terrible skin condition.
They thus started treating her.
Her life in the hospital now trumped her life under the tree.
But Eden now had a bed of her own, running water, and mouthwatering food. At last she could lie down in a comfortable bed without feeling cold or uncomfortable.
Her lovely personality was emerging and she was getting better every day.
The sweetest dog you will ever meet, Suzette said. Simply put, she’s a lover.
Eden could rest and recover more rapidly in her own kennel at the hospital. The first few days Eden slept, but as soon as she felt better, she got up and went looking for love.
At that moment they saw a tiny paw piercing the kennel bars.
Eden merely wanted affection and cuddling.
Reaching out her grey and white paw, she would ask to shake hands with everyone that walked by. They so took up grasping her hand.
“She’ll hold your hand and then make the sweetest howl ever, as if she’s saying, ‘I love you,'” she said. “I appreciate you seeing me.”
Eden had many people who loved her and returned to hold her hand, although she was still searching for her permanent home.
All she wanted was her own family.
Life In An Everlasting House
They quickly realized that Eden would need to be with an only dog household because she was uncomfortable with other dogs.
Finding someone was difficult…
But her handshake, full of affection, took her to her permanent home.
A family instantly fell in love with Eden after learning of her terrible past. With them Eden was obviously meant to be.
Eden could therefore finally say goodbye to her past and start a new life in her new house with the people who loved her.
For Eden, life will always be about warmth, cosiness, and love.
