He begged for aid with his eyes, but onlookers turned away. But as soon as he realized this, a group of rescuers intervened. Taking great care of the Golden Retriever, he did all in his power to provide him with the emotional and physical support he required. The volunteers took his ill health seriously.
He was not just elderly but also afflicted with several medical problems. Particularly worried about his hind legs, they felt they had a problem and brought the dog to a veterinarian facility to obtain a more thorough examination. His state would be generally known after the medical team had done inspections.
Regretfully, it became out that the Golden Retriever did in fact have cancer. Doctors tried everything to keep him as comfortable as possible as time was running short. A little love would inspire him to move bravely and persistently past challenges.
The therapies he received helped him to start to trust people again. Over the course of the weeks, he showed obvious improvement. It was now a happy face instead of a sad one. Our faithful four-legged friends just need love, not much more from us.
When he was ready to return the unwavering affection the Golden Retriever had shown him over the years, the previous owner had deserted him. Good feelings do, thankfully, move some individuals; one family chose to give him another chance.
He was raised by his new adopted parents for a year, and multiple pictures document that time. The dog’s indestructible spirit did not save him, though, and the sickness returned. Even standing had become impossible, and his owners had to bid him farewell when he was brought to the clinic.
Tears poured down the cheeks of those who had supported her through the worst of times as she closed her eyes. But they took comfort in the knowledge that they had made the final leg worthwhile.
