Certain heroes don’t don capes, that much is certain! Like Harley, others only wear a smile!

This Virginian hero Goldendoodle made international news by acting when others most needed assistance!

About 200 feet from shore, Ralph Dorn, the owner, saw this six-year-old dog kayaking with an unidentified animal for the most unselfish purpose ever.

Ralph recognized Harley was in the middle of a rescue operation when he approached a little closer.

Harley Slept Right Into Action

Virginian Ralph Dorn was aware Harley, his Goldendoodle, was no typical dog. He has always been a great boi—incredibly perceptive and brilliant.

Still, Harley surprised his boss once more when he sprang to save a newborn fawn from drowning.

Ralph speculates that Harley had to have sprang into action after spotting the fawn in the water.

He acted as soon as he saw the newborn fawn struggling desperately to escape the water! Without second thought or question, he swam straight for the infant, who was at the moment around 200 feet from the beach.

Guiding His Friend Until They Were Safe

A few days old fawns were not easy to help! Harley had to lead her all the way to the coast because the infant lacked coordination and was unsure of how to get there. Still, there was Harley, swimming like an expert and leading his newest pal to the beach!

“Every time the fawn tried to turn away, Harley would herd it back towards the shoreline and they kept getting closer and closer,” Ralph explains.

The infant would not have lived without Harley, that much is certain! Thankfully, this Golden boi managed to get the fawn to land. As soon as they emerged from the water, he began tending to its needs by licking its body.

He was just trying to make sure the infant was safe and he most definitely didn’t want to leave!

But a short while after the rescue, the mother of the fawn appeared on the lawn. Ralph hurried inside their home as soon as he saw her and made sure the mother and child were peacefully reunited.

One Lovely Friendship Was Established

Ralph assumed that was it, but Harley shocked him even more the next morning! As he and his wife Patricia were enjoying coffee, this Golden boi came up to them and began to bolt from one window to the next.

Ralph could see he wanted to go out, but he was not clear why. Once he let Harley out the front door, he saw the cutest thing imaginable!

The tiny fawn Harley had spared from the lake the day before was actually heard bleating close by. When they finally made contact, the fawn stopped bleating. He had run briskly towards this infant.

There were a few pawdorable minutes spent by the two, sniffing and wagging their tails together. Harley was delighted to see his tiny companion and returned to the house after their quick meeting!

It is hardly surprising that Harley has such a keen sense of intuition and exceptional ability to assist others! He helped the young and old in his neighborhood as a licensed therapy dog before his valiant rescue!

He has always been a model boi, willing to act and assist others when needed. That’s just who he is – the pawfect Goldendoodle!
